This Week Hip-Hop & R&B Album Sales

Leading the pack this week is Taylor Swift's new Red album at No. 1. According to Nielsen Soundscan, her new LP is the first to sell over a million copies since May 2011 with 1,200,800 sold units also making it the first since 2002's Eminem Show (1.322 million) to put up those kind of numbers. West Coast rapper Kendrick Lamar's good kid, m.A.A.d. city debuted on the chart at No. 2. With a solid week under his belt, the Aftermath Records emcee's long-awaited studio debut has shelled out 242,000 copies. [Check out Kendrick Lamar's Score] Atlanta rapper 2 Chainz's Based on a T.R.U. Story received an eight-spot boost to No. 27 with 12,000. After a solid seven weeks on store shelves, the LP has sold 354,000 records. Wu-Tang Clan leader RZA's Man with the Iron Fists original soundtrack debuted on the chart this week at No. 31. With seven days in the books, the actor/rapper's new score has pushed out 11,700 pieces. Music newcomers Macklemore & Ryan Lewis' The Heist dropped 22 slots to No. 34 with 11,100. With a full month under their belts, the duo's new joint effort has sold 108,000 copies. G.O.O.D. Music's Cruel Summer moved down six spots to No. 35 with 11,000. Moving into week seven, the group's debut has sold 331,000 records. Minnesota rapper P.O.S.' We Wouldn't Even Live Here debuted on the chart this week at No. 47. With seven days under his belt, the rap vet's new LP has shelled out 9,100 copies. Jedi Mind Tricks rapper Vinnie Paz's God of the Serengeti also opened up on the chart this week at No. 93. After a week on store shelves, Vinnie's new LP has sold 4,300 pieces.
