THIS WEEK HIP-HOP & R&B ALBUM SALES



Leading the pack this week is Drake's Take Care at No. 7 with 35,600 behind Whitney Houston's Greatest Hits (45,300), Passion's White Flag (48,800), Bruce Springsteen's Wrecking Ball (57,400), Guns N' Roses' Greatest Hits (84,700), Adele's 21 (148,400) and One Direction's Up All Night (176,200). According to the Nielsen SoundScan, Drake's sophomore album has sold 1,618,100 copies after 18 weeks on store shelves.
Young Money rapper Tyga's Careless World received a two-notch boost to No. 12 with 19,600 units moved this past week. With a month in the books, his newest release has shelled out 140,700 records up to date.
Grammy-winning singer Rihanna's Talk That Talk moved up four slots to No. 13 with 17,800. With 17 weeks knocked out, RiRi's newest LP has sold 759,900 pieces.
Midwest rap veteran Tech N9ne's Klusterfuk debuted on the chart at No. 15. With seven days in the books, his new EP has sold 17,000 copies.
Parody-rap duo LMFAO's Sorry for Party Rocking fell a notch to No. 23 with 13,900. After 39 weeks, their newest release continues to push units with 747,200 scanned units.
Atlanta rapper Young Jeezy's Thug Motivation 103 moved up a spot to No. 24 with 13,800. With 13 weeks knocked out, the Snowman's latest offering is "certified gold" with a total of 521,000 records sold up.
Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV dropped 22 positions to No. 30 with 10,800. Headed into his 30th week on store shelves, the rapper's newest solo offering has pushed out 2,085,300 copies.
Pop star Bruno Mars' Doo-Wops & Hooligans fell six slots to No. 39 with 9,400. With 76 weeks out of the way, the platinum recording album has sold a total of 1,583,300 units.
Rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne duet album fell ten slots to No. 46 with 8,600 sold this past week. With 32 weeks out of the way, their 2011 LP has moved 1,382,700 records.
Evening things out in Top 50 is singer Mary J. Blige's My Life II...The Journey Continues moving down ten slots to No. 47 with 8,500. After 17 weeks, the Queen of R&B's new LP has sold 563,200 copies.
