THIS WEEK HIP-HOP & R&B ALBUM SALES


Leading the pack this week is Grammy-winning singer Rihanna's Talk That Talk at No. 3 behind Nickelback's Here & Now (226,700) and Michael Buble's Christmas (227,100). According to Nielsen SoundScan, RiRi's new LP has sold 198,200 units after a week in stores.
Young Money star Drake's Take Care fell three slots to No. 4 with 172,800. Headed into his third week on store shelves, the 25 year-old rapper's sophomore LP stands at 804,200 sold pieces.
R&B veteran Mary J. Blige's My Life II...The Journey Continues debuted this week at No. 5. With seven days to her name, the iconic singer's new album has pushed out 156,000 records.
Pop star Justin Bieber's Under the Mistletoe, which features Busta Rhymes and Mariah Carey, dropped a notch to No. 6 with 142,200. After a month in stores, the project has sold 533,500 records.
Grammy-winning rapper Lil Wayne's Tha Carter IV received a ten-slot boost to No. 15 with 59,200. With 13 weeks under his belt, the Young Money leader's latest solo offering has sold 1,752,400 units.
Rap duo LMFAO's Sorry for Party Rocking jumped up 25 positions to No. 16 with 55,800. After 23 weeks, their new album stands at 306,200 sold records.
Late pop icon Michael Jackson's Immortal debuted on the chart at No. 24. With seven days in the books, the posthumous album has sold 42,800 copies.
Shady Records' rapper Yelawolf's Radioactive also debuted on the chart this week landing at No. 27. With seven days in the books, his new LP has pushed out 40,900 records.
Grammy-winning rappers Jay-Z and Kanye West's Watch the Throne received a one-slot boost to No. 30 with 34,100. After four months of availability, The Throne's joint effort stands at 1,103,900 sold pieces.
R&B diva Rihanna's Loud made a huge 77-spot leap forward to No. 43 with 25,100. After 54 weeks, her 2010 solo album has sold 1,547,300 units.
Evening things out in Top 50 is Nicki Minaj's Pink Friday jumping up 47 slots to No. 50 with 22,800. With 53 weeks in the books, her debut album has sold 1,663,300 copies to date.
