THIS WEEK HIP-HOP & R&B ALBUM SALES
R&B veteran R. Kelly made his way back onto the charts this week as Untitled debuted at No. 4, losing out to Susan Boyle's I Dreamed a Dream which landed on top with 527,300 records. According to Nielsen Soundscan, the singer's latest offering has sold 114,300 copies to date after a week in stores.
Late singer Michael Jackson's This Is It received a three slot boost to No. 8 with 75,100 copies. The iconic performer's compilation has sold 965,500 records after six weeks of availability.
Grammy-winning singer Rihanna's Rated R fell ten slots down to No. 14 with 59,000. With two weeks under her belt, the song bird's new solo project has moved 240,400 copies.
The Black Eyed Peas' E.N.D. (Energy Never Dies) has remained strong on the charts after moving up one position to No. 20 with 49,600 copies. After 26 weeks on the charts, the group's latest effort rests at 1,490,500 scanned discs.
G-Unit leader 50 Cent's Before I Self Destruct dropped 16 spots to No. 35 after moving 29,500 pieces. Headed into his first full month of availability, the rapper's fourth solo project has pushed 256,500.
Grammy-winning rapper Jay-Z's The Blueprint III fell ten slots to No. 38 with 27,900. With 13 weeks to his name, Hov's new album has moved 1,365,100 copies.
Hot Boys' Juvenile made his return to the charts this week as Cocky & Confident debuted at No. 43. Headed into his second week, Juvie the Great's latest effort has sold 23,100 records.
Evening things out in Top 50 is Beyonce's I Am..Sasha Fierce which landed at No. 45 with 22,700. After 55 weeks on the charts, Jay-Z's wife has sold 2,556,100 copies of her third solo album.
